Five.

She picked five layers for her cake.
Fitting.

She picked the colors.  It just fits.

My colorful girl.  Natalie.
She can't wait to start school.  I think she thought she would start the day after her birthday.
 She chose these colors.
She lost her first tooth last week. Before she turned five.
She has the best smile.  You can see it in her eyes.
This is Natalie.  Colorful.  Energetic.  Determined.  Loving.  Precocious.  Wonderful. MyNatalie (pronounced as one word- muhnatalie).
Happy birthday!

  5. Thanks, Amy. It was much easier than I had anticipated- you just have to cook more cakes than normal but the cooking time is shorter so it all works out.

  8. Heather, I used Wilston gel food coloring. I got mine at JoAnn, but I'm sure they carry them at Michael's and cake decorating supply stores as well. I'm sure there are other brands, too. The concentrated gel colorings are pretty true to color and you don't need to use very much of it at all. (but don't try to use the gel coloring you find at the grocery store as it is NOT the same thing)
